Abstract: The document is a report and introduction submitted to members of parliament by the AITUC. Based on Manoranjan Roy's report of the event, the AITUC demands that: Members of parliament from all parties should seek to ascertain the full facts of the tragedy; that action be taken against the manager if he is found responsible for sending the workers to their doom (as the report concludes); that families are adequately compensated; that surviving families and workers are provided with rehabilitation.
